I thank God for every new day that I have since my weight
loss surgery.
I have been overweight for several years and
it seemed like I was becoming bigger everyday. I found that
no matter how hard I tried with all the various diets, I could
not lose and keep off the weight. In February of 2002, after
a scary admission to the ICU for severe high blood pressure
and a new diagnosis of diabetes, I found that I needed to
lose the weight in order to have a chance to see my children
grow up. I have two girls and finding the energy to play and
to do things with them was not possible because of my size
and medical condition. I was struggling to work and all I
felt like doing was lying in bed when I got home. My diabetes
was out of control and making it a constant journey to the
doctor's office for adjustments. Finally one of my doctors
suggested the weight loss surgery and THANK GOD that he did.
This was a major changing point in my life. I searched and
prayed constantly for God to show me the right surgeon to
see for this surgery. God answered my prayers and I saw Dr.
Anderson and his wonderful staff. They gave me a new lease
on life.
I had my surgery on April 14, 2003 and I am
so glad that I did. I have not felt this great in years. I
am off all my medications for my diabetes and high blood pressure
and have lost a total of 62lbs. I can play with the kids and
keep up with them. I feel like working and enjoy getting up
and going to work in the morning. I don't need frequent rest
periods and I can walk without getting short of breath.
I would do it again in a heartbeat if I needed
to. I don't know how I will ever be able to Thank God enough
for answering my many prayers that have gotten me thus far
and look forward to what He has in store for the rest of my
life. I know that He sent me this very gifted surgeon and
for that I am so grateful. Dr. Anderson and Jennifer have
been there for me the whole way and I don't know what I would
do without them. All the staff of this office is great and
we are fortunate to have them in Middle Tennessee.
