Hi! I'm the same as most of us on this website. I was always the fattest one in my class, fattest at my job, etc. My best friend had surgery with Dr. Husted, and I decided to go to him also.

He absolutely saved my life! I had an "RNY with a Fobi pouch" procedure done on 1/8/01. Yes, of course I had a complication: I got a blood clot. But I'd had them before, so what else is new? I even had a vena cava filter inserted, in 1995, because I almost died when my lungs filled with clots. Dr. Husted visited me about 4 times a day when I went back into the hospital. I can NEVER say enough good things about that man and Jamie too. They were always willing to answer ANY question I had (and I had PLENTY!), and never "talked down" to me at all.

I had high blood pressure, my legs hurt all the time, I had no energy, and I had asthma. Three months after surgery, I literally THREW AWAY all my asthma medicines! I had no more need for them. My blood pressure is now 120/80 all the time.

Now I can walk FOREVER, sit in movie seats comfortably, sit in restaurant booths (and not be embarrassed!), and finally I can CROSS MY LEGS! I don't think I've EVER done that! haha. And, I can buy clothes anywhere now. Before, I was a size 34/36 pants, and 5X tops. Now I wear size 12 pants, and small and medium shirts! I will never cease to be amazed that it's ME in the mirror!

Anyone who can, should go to the "Losers Picnic" that Dr. Husted has each summer. Last year, I got up in front of everyone, and got into ONE LEG of my old jeans. And Dr. Husted got in the other leg! (I think I embarrassed him a little!!)

Using this "BMI calculator", my previous BMI was 57.2, or "super morbidly obese". Now it is 24.5, or "ideal"!! WOW! Of course, I had to have plastic surgery, but who cares? ALL THAT FLAB IS GONE NOW! YIPPEE!!

I will forever appreciate Dr. Husted and Jamie for all their support during my weight loss surgery and after that. THEY SAVED MY LIFE. "Thank you" will never be enough to say to them!!
